Odometer Not Working

Hi GUYS! I Have A 1992 Cv And The Odometer/trip Stopped Working. The Speedometer Still Works. Ford Said The Speedometer Unit Is Obsolete. Anyway To Fix Or Know Where To Get New/used Unit.

The odo gears stripped


You will need to get a good, used 92-94 speedo (note, shift indicator pattern was revised AOD-AODE but it still swaps in fine) and swap your odometer wheel unit into it. Or try to find *just* a set of new odometer gears from a speedo rebuild shop.


You can send off the speedo to be repaired as well.

That has absolutely nothing to do with his problem.



I put a '91 Police Spec Speedometer in my '93 Marquis. They've used an electronic speed pulse with an electric motor driving a mechanical odometer in these cars since at least 1990.

Same thing with my 92 GM. I got a new new gear from here:

Getting one of those new gears sounds like the way to go. I got a junkyard speedo and it only went another 20K before it died as well. It's suprising how annoying not having a working ODO really is.
